Good morning and happy 2012 to you all!
Hope everyone had fun last night. Ten of us went to a friend's place for drinks. Girls v boys charades seemed to be the night's big winner... the girls won hands down!

So, yesterday we saw Nigel Slater cook his aromatic mackeral recipe on BBC1 in his Simple Suppers series, see link. He always make everything seem so easy!

So, yesterday we saw Nigel Slater cook his aromatic mackeral recipe on BBC1 in his Simple Suppers series, see link. He always make everything seem so easy!
It looked so delicious - those Asian flavours of chilli, lemongrass, ginger... yum yum! We said we must look it up and give it a try - we tend to note things on our kitchen blackboard (not my handwriting!).
So, as I sit in my dressing gown having my first cuppa of 2012, I've looked up this recipe to hopefully cook it tonight. The BBC's website doesn't contain the recipe, but I've found it on this website - here's a picture of what it should look like!
Post to follow on how it turns out and what we did (we tweek recipes a bit to fit into what we have in the cupboards already)
